Sales Engineer

Position Summary

The Sales Engineer interacts directly with customers and serves as a liaison between customers and AKI operations. The Sales Engineer performs all sales duties as described below.

Essential Functions

  • Prospecting for new customers through designed business development process
  • Expanding opportunities and sales at existing customer base, and introducing new service offerings
  • Conducting face to face selling visits with customers
  • Supporting customers in pre-sales consultation relevant to industrial services (machining, welding/fabrication, assembly, etc), and working through project requirements
  • Maintaining CRM including- Recording call logs and customer activity, managing customer follow ups, managing sales pipeline.
  • Completion of lead follow-up and quote follow-up in a timely manner
  • Working with the quote team to ensure customers’ requirements/expectations are properly captured in the proposal, and supporting quotation process and delivery of quotations.
  • Developing and maintaining effective and efficient sales plan and time management systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or other technical discipline from an accredited college or university,
  • Two to five years of relevant experience, including:
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical blueprints
  • Fundamental understanding of machining, welding and mechanical assembly.

CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift 3:30pm - 11:30pm

Position Summary
The CNC Machinist programs, sets up, and operates conventional, special purpose and CNC machining centers to fabricate high precision
metallic and nonmetallic parts.

This is a second shift position hours are 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm.

Essential Functions

  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, the sequence of operations, and setup requirements
  • Efficiently set-up & operate CNC machines centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts in a fast-paced production environment
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, and CNC grinders
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
  • Perform major editing of Complex CNC programs
  • Efficiently program and machine Complex–High Precision Parts using CNC Machines
  • Thoroughly measure and inspect parts per engineering specifications, drawings, or written instructions

Additional Duties

  • Efficiently load material and parts for un-attended machining
  • Effectively set-up additional machines to be run unattended
  • Design & manufacture advanced & complicated fixturing
  • As assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, work instructions, control plans, and other production documentation
  • Must be able to write detailed set-up instructions, reports and speak effectively with employees
  • Knowledge of speeds and feeds for machining all types of materials
  • Skilled in the use of micrometers, calipers, electronic indicators, and other measurement equipment
  • Ability to apply the concepts of math: basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Knowledge of metric conversion; able to work in both Metric and English units
  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric & Dimensional Tolerancing and efficient in Finishing Techniques
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner to meet production goals and minimize scrap

Minimum Qualifications

  • Technical school or apprenticeship program in Machine Shop technology;
  • or ten or more years related experience and/or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

Position Summary

Research, develop, and implement new processes and capabilities in manufacturing in support of customer applications and new industrial service offerings.  

Essential Functions

  • Assembly and wiring process development and oversight 
  • Analyze and develop processes needed to grow contract manufacturing
    • Welding, coating, testing, etc…
  • Regulatory process development and management
  • Design and implementation of advanced testing procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • At least two years of experience working in Manufacturing
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives
